The competition was at The Lions in Richlands on Friday, August 11 and Beecham achieved his feat of strength and willpower despite nursing two rotator cuff tears. “I had two numbers in my game plan, a 275 kg RAW squat and a 305 kg deadlift,” Beecham said. “I was not sure if I would hit either of these, due to injuries.”
He set the first up squat weight at 255 kg and was successful, so then had 10 kg added to each end of the bar (275 kg). If he lifted this, it would be a new Global Powerlifting Alliance world record and CAPO national record.
Also a competition PB, his bench lifts were 80/120/130 kg; and deadlifts 265/285/305 kg.
