The day was devoted to learning equestrian vaulting skills with instructor Sarah Venamore. Sarah is an Equestrian Australia Level 1 General, Level 2 Dressage, Level 2 Vaulting and Pony Clubs Associations of NSW accredited coach.
The members were divided into two groups juniors and seniors. After an extensive warm up, riders were instructed on how to perform the compulsory moves and stance on a vaulting barrel. This included learning the order in which the routine had to be performed. Then riders got to use their newly learnt skills on a real live moving vaulting horse.
Club member Jacinta Mowatt said: "I was very excited to learn the vaulting skills and I would like to experience more training events like it.”
Kate Easlea said with a leg up onto the vaulting horse she was able to show other members her newly learnt skills.
The following day, Sunday August, 13, 16 members attended the Zone 27 PC Rally held at the Marulan Pony Club grounds.
