Lachlandcare spokesperson Mary Bonet said the awards are open to Individuals and groups involved in Landcare and bushcare related activities.
“These could be school communities, commercial organisations, projects involving a number of stakeholders, community groups, industry organisations such as farming groups and individual Landcare and Bushcare volunteers,” Ms Bonet said.
“The Landcare Champions Awards is based on the model established by the South East Landcare Region, which does not have a set selection criteria such as the State and National Landcare Awards.
“The purpose of these awards is to recognise the many Landcare enthusiasts we have, and without which their local environment and their local community would be much poorer.”
Nominations should be addressed to Mary Bonet from Lachlandcare (goulburnyass@lachlandcare.org.au) 56 Clinton Street Goulburn before COB on September 8.
A panel from the three regions will decide the finalists and the awards will be presented at a Landcare Dinner on the November 29 in Goulburn.
