Goulburn Golf Club’s trainee PGA pro Jake Mitchell performed well in the event he organised, not only with the organising but also on the course.
He, along with Mitchell Harry, finished just one stroke under the five golfers who shared in the first place prize money .
Jake Mitchell had been concerned that the event he organised might not run as planned or he might have forgotten something, but the shotgun start 2017 Goulburn Soldiers Club Trainee Pro Am seemed to go off without any hickups.
Even the barbecued sausages in a roll cooked by Kev Tozer appeared to meet with approval.
The five winners, Jack Kessell, Marco Zirov, Frazer Droop, Mitchell Flitcroft and Alex Emmerson all finished three under par.
The trainees who picked up the nearest the pin prizes were M Grenot on the fifth and M Ballard on the 15th.
