The team left Goulburn on Friday September 8 around 7pm. Most of the 14 members travelled in convoy, but a few flew down.
Everyone that hits the mats in competition did amazingly well. For some of the Goulburn team it was their first time competing and others their first competing in new ranks.
After some amazing matches at the end of the day the team ended up with the following.
- Craig Harmer- 1st in Weight Class and 3rd in Open
- Michelle Barton - 1st in Weight Class and 2nd in Open
- Hayden Ellis- 1st in Weight Class
- Scott Cave - 2nd in Weight Class and 3rd in Open
- Lou Hogan - 2nd in Weight Class
- Sam Studdert - 3rd in Weight Class
- Mike Bensley - 1st in Weight Class
- Ben Robertson - 2nd in Weight Class
- Tiarna Cameron- 3rd in Open.
After the days events they had a great dinner at Munichbrauhaus. Some stayed out to see Melbourne's night life and others went home to rest up for the Professor Rigan Machado seminars. Coach Craig attended the school owners seminary conducted by Master Rigan Machado.
The who's who from the BJJ community were there. After the school owners seminar Lou Hogan and Craig Harmer worked some great passing drills for the black belt and coloured belt seminar.
After another two hours on the mats it was time to say goodbye and head home. Another, another hours in the car singing as they drove and the Goulburn team was finally home. Life is about sharing moments with amazing people and that is something the Goulburn MAA team does in spades.
