First up to bat were Sreejesh Sreedharan and Jobin Thomas. They faced the opening bowling of Grant Norton and Dean Jackson.
Jackson was keen to claim a scalp with a fourth over bowl and the ensuing Thomas hit presented captain James Kent with a good catch.
But that brought the dangerous Jestin "Jango" Jacob to the crease, who hit a four off his second ball to get off the mark. He started scoring freely from the start, while Sreejesh fell leg before wicket to Norton for eleven.
Next to fall was the the in-form Abdul Raheem who was drawn into a bad shot by the crafty Glen Taylor to be out for nine.
It brought veteran Russel Mills to the crease. Jango and Russell seemed to go into another gear with sixes and fours going all over the park. A new Warriors record partnership off 170 runs in 16 overs turned the match.
That was until captain Kent had Jacob caught behind for 92 off just 63 balls.
With eight fours and six sixes, Mani Chahal and Pawan Aulakh continued the big hitting while Russell Mills continued to be destructive. Only Sampath Palley failed with a golden duck.
Russell Mills ended up 142 not out off 72 balls with 16 fours and 7 sixes to make a massive target of 339.
With three players having to leave early to head to Sydney for the soccer derby, Hibo Gold had a big task, which captain Kent seemed to relish.
Connor Deighton and captain James Kent were scoring freely from the start.
They were matching the Warriors rate to be 1-44 in the sixth over, when Hammad Farooq took a very good catch to have Deighton out for 12. Captain Kent continued to score freely.
With the very solid David Smith at other end, they advanced the Hibo Gold score to 97 before Kent fell to Jobin Thomas, caught by Arun Raj for a well scored 55.
David Smith continued to play well and was starting to score freely before he was run out for 37. The rest of the batting lineup fell quickly, with Arun Raj cleaning up with two wickets in seven balls.
Dean Jackson bowled for eight runs and Isaac Langham LBW for six. Last to fall was G Norton for one.
Hibo Gold managed to score 150 in 36 overs.
In other second grade games Hibo Green with 176 runs were defeated by Workers Stags White, two wickets for 178 runs in 28 overs.
Hibo Colts scored 98 runs in 26.3 overs to be defeated by Workers Super Stags who finished two wickets down for 105 in 17 overs. Railway Bowlo had the bye.
