They wore pyjamas to work to draw attention to the sleep breathlessness disorder, which can have major health impacts if left untreated.
Blooms pharmacist Ash Ashfari said the condition caused the airways to collapse.
“This causes apnea attacks while people are sleeping, which can mean periods from five to 60 seconds where the person is not breathing at all.
“Blood-oxygen levels can drop quite low, which can affect emotions. It can be a cause of depression. It can also affect the heart and blood pressure.
“So when people with this condition wake up, they may feel like they have not slept very well, and consequently feel down as a result.”
Mr Ashfari said Blooms pharmacy offered diagnostic tests with a sleep monitor people could take home with them.
“The results are sent to a specialist and if they are diagnosed with sleep apnea, then we look at options for treatment,” he said.
