So much so that Australian mystery investigator and author Tim the Yowie Man has decided to release an episode on the district’s natural wonder.
In the 1930s many different types of watercrafts were used to explore the lake, with some attempting to set world records.
In the 1860s some say bunyips would surface on the water, others claim to have sighted UFOs more recently.
“When we were coming up with the idea for a web series, we were looking for interesting man made and natural wonders of the region,” he said.
“I’m fascinated by it. I’ve been driving past it in the mist, during sunrises and sunsets. It’s a place that gets under your skin. There’s something special about it.”
This is the reason he chose to feature Lake George as part of the three part web series.
“There were a number of accidents at one time, folklore stories and a collection of unusual phenomenons – it’s almost Australia’s Bermuda Triangle.”
The seven minute episode will explore the different myths of the lake and water movement over time.
Tim the Yowie Man and his crew were able to capture Lake George by travelling on a large hovercraft, capturing footage from the water and the sky.
The Lake George episode will be released on Wednesday morning on Tim the Yowie Man’s Youtube channel.
