Goulburn Railway Bowling Club has rounded of a year of growth with its presentation day on Saturday.

The day was organised by the women's club in conjunction with the men. Their plans for bowls in the morning was disrupted by the weather but they quickly adapted bringing the presentation forward and hoping they could get some bowls played in the afternoon. The ability to adapt has been a hallmark of the bowling club's success. The men moved to ACT for their representative competition. It was a major change however the move has worked well and they have attracted several new members, not necessarily because of the move but because of the positive energy of the membership. President Reg Thoms said it has been a good year for the club with more experienced members encouraging the newer ones. “Though we joined the ACT after their schedule was out, we have been able to participate in their competitions and  are looking forward to our first full season next year.”

The women's club has also experienced a growth in membership with new members keen to learn and participate in competitions. At the presentation winners encouraged the newer members to have the confidence in their ability and join in the championships competitions next year.

Winners of the singles, pairs triples fours and other competitions will be listed in coming weekly bowls reports.
