A few weeks back, I wrote to our state local member on behalf of our local retired railway workers group. I got a standard government reply, so I rang to make an appointment to be told I had to make a written application. I declined.

A week ago, I got a phone call – would I like to see Ms Goward? – which I accepted.
I went on Tuesday at 11am for this appointment to be handed a full page form declaring ‘I am not a lobbyist’. I declined.
Doesn’t our state local member realise all constituents who approach their member are lobbying for one cause or another? They don't go there for tea and coffee.
