Power has been restored to Yass.

Some homes in surrounding areas still experiencing outages.

EARLIER: There is no estimated time of repair for downed power lines in the Yass Valley, a statement on the Essential Energy facebook page read.

At 6pm the provider announced 5,926 customers were affected by an unplanned power outage in the ares of Yass, Gunning and Marilba.

“Crews are currently on site isolating to make repairs and arranging for traffic control,” the statement read.

“No ETR at this stage.”
