For entertainment value the game between Soldiers Warriors and Hibo Gold was certainly one worth watching and with several vantage points out of the sun it was the place to be on Saturday afternoon.

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first on a green wicket. Ahkil Nair continuing his good form from previous week started game with a rush of runs seeing the Warriors fly to 72 from 7 overs before Grant Norton bowled him for 41 from 23 balls with one, six and six, fours.
Liam Langham took two wickets in the next over Sreejesh Sreedharan caught for 23 from 16 balls with three fours and bowling Hammad Farooq for a duck.
Langham’s next over also saw a wicket, taking the bails of Max George for a single run. The Warriors appeared to be on the back footfour down for 75. Warriors Captain Mani Chahal did his best to settle the attack but spinner Tom Taylor had other ideas with his consistent use of the ball.
Majid Laghari was caught by Vipin Pa off Tom Taylor. Warriors started scoring freely again and at drinks were six for 143 with Abdul Raheem looking solid and some big hitting from Sampath Palley scoring 42 from 31 balls with eight fours and Jestin Jacob and Andrew Hopkins supported Raheem with some big hitting saw the Warriors put up and extremely imposing total of 293. Raheem was not out 52 from 50 balls faced including six fours. The pick of the bowlers was Glen “Skippy” Taylor with three wickets for 40 off eight overs, well supported by Liam Langham and Tom Taylor.
Goulburn express Jimmy Gill opened the bowling for Soldiers Warriors and his pace worried the Hibo Gold batsmen. as he tallied up five wickets for 13 runs in 6.5 overs. Ahkil Nair claimed two for 12 from six overs and Mani Chahal picked up one leaving Hibo Gold all out for 33. The man of the match was but man off the match was Mitchell Taylor, who put in an incredible effort in the field. He never stopped running and was an inspiration for his team as well as winning the respect of the Warriors. For both these teams cricket resumes on January 13 when Hibo Gold plays Hibo Green and Warriors play Hibo Colts. There is a catch up match between Super Stags and Hibo Green on January 6.
