It was time for the annual prune to ensure the roses bloomed again in 50 days, in time for Goulburn’s annual Rose Show.
Some 15 people, including committee members, Goulburn Garden Club and community volunteers joined the early morning work, before the heat took hold.
Committee member Margaret Thompson said the Show, on March 10 and 11, would be held at the Veolia Arena for the first time.
It will include a main display by Canberra Institute of Technology with a ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ theme. There will also be a host of stallholders, including Goulburn Art Club and Goulburn Patchworkers.
The annual event typically attracts several hundred entries. Schedules are available from the Goulburn Visitors Information Centre.
