Every three years, Australian wool growers set the future funding level of their wool research, development and marketing body through WoolPoll. AWI consults a panel of wool grower representatives to assist in running the poll.
“I think it is a positive move to see the diversity within the 2018 WoolPoll panel,” Mrs Frost said.
“There is a wide range of wool grower interests represented. WoolPoll is unique, yet simple, and plays an important role in the wool industry. I hope I can help encourage wool producers to cast their votes by effectively communicating with the producer networks and organisations I am involved in or have access to.”
This WoolPoll panel works with AWI and endorses the voting documentation and processes. Panel members also play a critical role in encouraging growers to vote in the democratic process of WoolPoll.
South Australian wool grower Sydney Lawrie will chair the 2018 WoolPoll Panel.
"Based on advice of the 2015 panel and AWI Board, I asked grower representative groups to put forward nominees that would reflect the diversity of the Australian wool industry. There was a strong field of nominees from across the industry, making for some considerable deliberations by the selection committee. I’m confident that the collective skillset of the eight growers will represent the wide range of wool grower interests performing the important tasks required,” Mr Laurie said.
