HISTORICAL SOCIETY AGM
President Michael Chalker welcomed members to the annual general meeting. He said it had been a sad year with the loss of prominent members. However the opening of the Fernbank School had been a very well supported event. Thanks were due to all who had contributed in some way.

Ken Fleming then took the chair for the election of office bearers. The president and secretary, Graham Lambert, were re-elected while Judith Mathews named assistant treasurer until the elected treasurer, Glennis Wright, regains her health. Ken Fleming and Bob Blay were nominated as vice presidents. Archives officers nominated were Mary Chalker, Maureen Long, Annette Chalker and Pat Murray. The executive plus members as required was named as the committee. Publicity officer – Mary Mooney. Newsletter editor – Maureen Long. Catering team – Pat Murray, Judy Chalker, Annette Chalker and Margaret McAlister. Public officer – Bob Blay. Auditor – Judith Mathews. Annual subscriptions will be $10 while admission to the complex will be $5. Children are free.
It was decided to open on Saturday mornings from 10am-2.30pm for a trial period of three months. The complex will still be open on Sunday afternoons from 1pm. until 4pm.
At the end of the meeting John Menzies spoke about Geoff McIntosh, in 1964, finding a stone axe when he was ploughing on his soldier settler block at Myrtleville. It is believed the axe once belonged to a Gundungurra man. Lea Corby, on behalf of the McIntosh family, and as a tribute to Geoff, then presented the axe to the Historical Society. Lea and the family was thanked sincerely for their generosity.

First prize in the Australia Day, multi prize raffle, six days in the Jamberoo Action Park, was organised by David Mitchell, Auto Body Services. The winner was Blake Dean.
