In order to hold the race meeting the committee agreed to abide by the “No Glass” policy which was imposed.
This means that only cans and plastic containers will be permitted – no beer, wine, champagne, soft drink, juice, or drinking glasses or anything made of glass will be allowed on the property. Police will be on site and the no glass policy will be enforced. Race club committee will work with Police to ensure the picnics remain a glass free site.
Crookwell IGA, sponsor of the Binda Picnics, will have stocks of liquor in plastic and cans on hand in plenty of time for the race meeting. Local liquor outlets including the Crookwell Services Club, Criterion Hotel, Binda Store and Laggan Hotel all sponsor the race meeting and will be able to fill orders for race day.
It is a condition of entry to the race course that no glass is brought in by those attending the Binda Picnics.
The “no glass” policy is being enforced state wide and many events do not permit glass products on site.
The Crookwell Services Club, Criterion Hotel, Binda Store and Laggan Hotel offer packages including bus travel to and from the races. The Race Club committee will operate one bus to the races this year. Tickets will be $20 return and are on sale at Chataway Café. Anyone interested in travelling by bus should purchase their tickets within the next two weeks.
There will be a working bee on Saturday February 17 when the committee will start work on the grounds in the lead up to race day.
