“Ive been a regular customer of Mick and Joes, since it was in Clifford St and before the McAlisters bought it,” Mr Stephenson said. “ I also regularly use Cooper tyres too. “It was just luck that the company was running an Australia wide promotion when it came time to replace the ones on the ute.”
“It was a complete surprise when I was informed that I had won a brand new Ford Mustang GT, I thought they were joking at first.”
“It is great for Mick and Joes too because they also receive a prize for being the lucky Cooper Tires retailer.”
Mr Stephenson travelled to Queensland to take delivery of his new car.
“It is a real dream to drive and we are planning a couple of road trips to make the most of it,” he said.
Exclusive Tyre Distributors (ETD), the distributors of one of the world’s leading tyre manufacturers, Cooper Tires, gave one lucky Australian the chance to win the highly sought after Ford Mustang GT by purchasing a set of Cooper Tires.
Cooper Tires, Australian Distributor, Terry Smith said there would be very few things better than cruising the open road in an iconic piece of automotive history like a V8 Mustang and he is glad to see someone live the dream.
“Peter is one of the 45 per cent of Australians who actively check their tyres to ensure they are safe on the road, minimising the risk of an accident,” he said.
“Recent research indicates Australia’s practice and knowledge of tyre safety is low. Almost a third of the population don’t know they need new tyres until it is too late or they rely on being told by someone they need to take action.”
Safety is not the only issue when it comes to Australians and tyres, Terry Smith said it also alarming that 62 per cent of Australians have no idea or are unsure about how many kilometres they should usually get from their tyres.
“Australians should feel safe with the tyres they purchase, but they also need to get value for money. Cooper Tires is working hard to change this by helping consumers understand how to get engaged, check the facts and choose the right tyres for their specific needs,” Mr Smith said.
Peter Stephenson said he has always kept an eye on the wear and tear of the tyres on every car he has owned to avoid getting into a situation that is easily avoidable and can sometimes be very dangerous and make sure he is getting value through long mileage.
“I’ve been buying my tyres from Mick and Joes for a very long time and it is great to see that they have shared in my luck as the winning Cooper Tires retailer too,” Mr Stephenson said.
