This year Goulburn Tennis Club’s committee decided to encourage some of young players who have been participating in tournaments and working hard to improve their game.
Club president Natalie Rowsell, who came up through the club as a junior said that the committee had settled on a scholarship amount of up to $400 for their 2018 scholarships.
“One of the club’s key aims has been to encourage keen junior players to reach their full potential,” Ms Rowsell said. “ To do this involves having lessons, travelling to tournaments throughout the state and having good equipment.
“These scholarships will offset some of these costs.”
“ This years recipients are Kade Robertson $400, Ethan Crooks $400, Braeden and Ella Ferris $200 each and Charlie Lang $400.”
“These young tennis players have demonstrated their desire to improve their game and have impressed the coaches and the committee with their enthusiasm.”
Later this year the club will be asking parents/or juniors to apply for the 2019 scholarships. The club is holding the Seniors Tennis Tournament on March 23-25.
