The Goulburn Multicultural Centre is hosting the Goulburn Carnivale and Multicultural Markets this Saturday, February 24 from 10am to 4pm in Belmore Park.
It promises some great dancing, food and fun.
There will be over 20 local and visiting cultural performing groups and a variety of food and market stalls.
Goulburn Multicultural centre manager Heni Hardi said the event had been going since 2006, when about 30 people attended.
“Now, over 1000 people attend and it is a major event,” Ms Hardi said.
“So much so that we were nominated at this year’s for Australia Day for Event of the Year.”
Ms Hardi said the day starts at 10am with a welcome from Goulburn Multicultral Centre director John Gunn.
“Some of the performances include: African drummers, Cook Island dancers, Mexico Lindo, Spicy Mum’s dancing Group and Indonesian dancing,” Ms Hardi said.
“There will be dancers from the Philippines, Macedonia, Mexico, Africa, Indonesian, Columbia and Sri Lanka and the local Liz Barling School of Scottish Dancing.
