The lunch raised funds in order to award grants to local school leavers pursuing tertiary qualifications. The grants help with the purchase of textbooks and laptops, or to contribute towards course fees.
The Long Lunch featured three catered courses, an art auction of selected local works, a woodwind ensemble from the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium and gift bags of locally sourced produce.
The GDEF was “especially excited to have Richard Glover, acclaimed journalist, radio personality and author as our special guest speaker,” said GDEF chairman and Cardross host Guy Milson.
