A woman from Goulburn who assaulted a person in Young leaving them with bruises, red marks, cuts and grazes has been issued a community corrections order for 12 months.

Kaylee Ann Kelleher, 21, grabbed a person by the throat outside a home in Young sometime between 6pm and 11pm on December 31, 2019, court facts reveal.

The person fell to the ground and Kelleher mounted them before other people intervened.
Police questioned Kelleher about the incident later in the year.
She admitted grabbing the person around the neck, and was charged for the assault.
She pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was sentenced at Young Local Court on December 16.
"She needs to start making better decisions if she wants to improve her quality of life," Magistrate Michael O'Brien said.
