Bastard Boys is about the bitter waterfront war involving Patrick Stevedoring and the union.
In November 1997, the then influential union mover and shaker Coombs (who will be played by Colin Friels) received a phone call warning him of a secret Federal Government plan to remove union members from the waterfront.
Plans were underway to train serving and ex-military personnel in Dubai so they could take over the jobs of union members on the docks.
