Councillors at last week's council meeting agreed to the plan subject to comments from the Sydney Catchment Authority and the Roads and Traffic Authority.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn wants to subdivide 23 hectares surrounding the main building into 117 residential lots (of average size 1267m2).
There will also be a heritage lot containing the St Joseph's building and outbuildings, and two future community or recreational lots.
