They have also questioned key parts of supporting documents to justify Multiquip Quarries' bid for the Ardmore Park sand and basalt development.
Their comments came at a presentation to councillors on Wednesday afternoon. Crs Max Hadlow and Keith Woodman were apologies.
Six residents - Inda Evans, Mick Hegglestone, Diana Moran, Mike Freestone, Philip Broadhead and Anne Williams - addressed the forum.
