Candidly dresses promo girls turned heads at the track on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week while some of the leading vehicles from Aussie Racing Cars and FW1 were hastily driven around the challenging course.
The two-day extravaganza doubled as a trial day for the Aussie Racing Cars firm and FW1 motor racing specialists, both of whom yearned to make Wakefield their home in 2011. And the drawcard for car racing enthusiasts in Goulburn: the two leading motor racing brands will act as the support feature category at six televised V8 Supercar meets and two Superbike showdowns next season.
The team from Aussie Racing Cars said they hoped to hold four promotional events at the Wakefield Course - the first of which will be held early in the new year. Not only will spectators have the chance to cast their eye over attractive promo girls and inspect first hand premier motor vehicles, those who pay will be able to take the cars for an on track test drive themselves.
Around 80 ordinary citizens had the chance to momentarily feel the thrill associated with being a professional racing car driver this week as they put themselves to the test behind the wheel.
The two-day fun filled package commenced in grand style: a helicopter entrance. The chopper dropped the promo girls onto the centre of Wakefield Park where they officially announced the event open. That sort of fanfare will hardly rate a mention when the real effort comes into town next year.
