Among the sea of newly graduated recruits on Friday the Goulburn Post found Rhiannon Duncan. Ms Duncan is a 22-year-old recruit from Wollongong, who, among many others, felt very accomplished after the graduation parade.

Ms Duncan said she had life long dreams of becoming an officer. “I always wanted to be one [police officer] since I was a little girl,” She said. Between finishing year 12 at Kanahooka High in Wollongong and joining the Police Force she worked in the retail industry.
“I’m glad I waited’” she said of her gap between school and attending the Police Academy. “The academic side was the hardest but I got through,” she said. She is the first of her family to become a police officer and has hopes of joining a special part of the force.
“I’d love to join the dog squad!” she said. Ms Duncan will be starting her new career as an officer in Wollongong on Monday morning. “It’s been my lifelong dream, I can’t wait to start!” she said.
