Wolf Pack hit the lead early through tries to Joel O’Neill and Abram Kara. They were dominant throughout the first half and furthered their lead with tries to captain Ashley Kara, who bagged a double, and Josh McLaughlin, who scored the first of his four tries.

Although the Leprechauns managed to cross late in the first half through some quick thinking by their captain, Steven Dunn, they found themselves behind 6-1 at the break.

The Leprechauns eventually found their rhythm in the second half through tries to Dylan Burgess and Jessica Ross but the Wolf Pack rarely clicked out of first gear and answered with further tries to McLaughlin, Alyce Scott and Shane Waaka.

With time running out the Leprechauns added a touch of respectability to the score line with late tries to Rachel Ross and Laura Godkin, but the damage had been done. Wolf Pack ran out convincing winners. Wolf Pack’s Hamish Copeland was deemed the player of the grand final.

Earlier in the evening, Landmark won back-to-back mixed B grade titles, defeating a gutsy Time Machine 6-5. Both teams threw everything into the game, with the younger, quicker players of Landmark up against their more seasoned opponents.

Darren Wake and Darren Backhouse were the inspiration behind Time Machine’s attack while Charlie Croker and player of the grand final Matt Joseph steered Landmark on to their second grand final victory in as many years.
