Elders agent David Medina said yesterday that “fairly complex” negotiations with a potential Sydney buyer were nearing completion.
He was confident this would see the one-time hang-out of bushranger Ben Hall, and lately destination pub for daytrippers as well as locals, change ownership.
The freehold pub was passed in after bidding stalled at $950,000 when it was auctioned on May 13. Meanwhile, the Orange-based hotel broker, Murray Gilchrist, says there has been “lots of local interest” in Goulburn’s Hibernian Hotel, due to be auctioned by Knight Frank in Sydney, on June 23.
“We’re very happy with the interest in the Hibo from all over the place - as well as locally, also from Sydney and other NSW regions,” said Mr Gilchrist, who is agent in conjunction.
