Architect (with Development Management potential)

My client is a boutique sized firm based in Thomastown. They have a strong focus on company culture and rewarding hard work, this philosophy has resulted in a very low staff turnover rate. The position has excellent potential for supported career development. One thing for sure is that you’ll learn a lot from the Directors and Architects directly. You’ll get the construction experience you will need for you to progress to become a Development Manager if you so wish.

This is an exciting opportunity and great timing to join this very well-established firm as they have won a couple of very rewarding projects. You will be working on Mixed-used, Commercial, Hotel and Residential projects of various size and scale.

Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Architect. You will be working directly with a Director and Senior Architect.

Essential Requirements:

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Sound understanding of local codes and statutory requirements
• Ability to provide project team leadership on all stages of a project – feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, contract administration, consultant coordination and client liaison
• Excellent time management skills – ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multi-task
• Relationship building skills to work effectively with Director, Associates, clients, sub-consultants, authorities and colleagues
• Excellent communication skills including advanced level of English, both written and oral
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Project and Word
• 5 years+ post graduate experience in Australia
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• You must have experience in at least some of these project types:

- Mixed-use + Residential
- Commercial
- Industrial

Preferred Requirements:

• ARBV Registration desirable, but not essential.
