The Kids and Traffic Program is funded as a partnership between Transport for NSW and Macquarie University. This is a fixed term contract role running until 31 December 2022 with a potential to extend depending on the funding. ABOUT YOU Are you an early childhood teacher who : Has recent successful teaching experience with young children Enjoys working with educators and families in children's services Presents information to adults confidently in a clear and interesting way Prefers varied working hours including some late starts and evening work Enjoys driving and travel, both local and country NSW Wants a change in career direction in 2022 Essential Criteria 4-year NESA recognised early childhood education degree Successful teaching experience with young children Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and as a team member deliver information to adults confidently in a clear and interesting way both face to face and online initiate projects and implement these effectively with minimum supervision think creatively, and to initiate and develop strategies suitable for use with young children and their families Sound understanding of the diversity of children's services, programs, current influences upon children's services and the impact these have on Program delivery High level oral and written communication skills applicable to diverse audiences and settings Well-developed Information and communications technology and administrative skills Ability to deliver regular evening workshops and occasional weekend workshops undertake country travel via air and road to deliver workshops throughout NSW A current, valid, and unrestricted NSW driver's licence Knowledge of and commitment to principles of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety. This position requires Working with Children check, double vaccination against Covid 19 and a medical clearance. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia. Desirable Criteria Recent successful teaching experience with young children Experience in working with diverse communities Demonstrated experience in or understanding of road safety education Successful experience as an adult educator ABOUT US Delivered in partnership with Macquarie University, the Kids and Traffic, Early Childhood Road Safety Education Program, is funded by the NSW Government. The Program is in its fourth decade of a shared governance partnership between Transport for NSW, the NSW Department of Education, Catholic Schools NSW, and The Association of Independent Schools of NSW. This unique collaboration extends beyond provision of program planning and resource development to joint initiatives, dissemination of policy advice and filtering of educational insights into statutory and policy documents.
