Sheet Metal Worker

Your new company
Our client is a well-established, Australian, family-owned manufacturer of Electrical Consumables, Electrical Enclosures, Gas Heater Fittings, Ventilation Ductwork, Wood Fire Components and Fencing Parts, who have been in operation for over 35 years. As the company is growing vastly, they are currently on the lookout for a Sheet Metal Worker to join their team. Ideally, they're looking for someone with excellent sheet metal work, but they will also consider someone with heart and a good head on their shoulders to train up.

Your new role
This role will see you using your knowledge of metals and ability to select gauge and type of sheet metal according to products being fabricated. You will need to be proficient in interpreting job specifications and blueprints, adhere to work health safety policies and procedures, establish and adjust work to meet job costings and customer delivery times, and estimate material costs and labour times required for completion of the job.

You will also be required to supervise and coordinate activities of assigned process workers, estimate material costs and labour times required for completion of job, and liaise with customers advising them of those outcomes.

This is a permanent position that will require you to work Monday to Friday, and is located in the Northern suburbs.

What you'll need to succeed

• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings.
• Time management and organisation skills.
• Proficient in cutting metal stock with precision using hand and powered shears, guillotines, and drills.
• Assembling of sheet metal components into final products by riveting, soldering and spot welding.
