Our client is a second tier public practice firm operating for more than 100 years that provides a suite of business services including tax, audit and assurance and corporate advisory to private and publicly listed companies, not for profits and individuals but with a particular focus on the middle market ($10 million to $1 billion). The demands of our growing business means that a new position, in a full-time, permanent Tax Associate has become available.
Your new role
Our client is seeking a tax associate to support the growing business and work alongside the Director to improve the performance of existing systems and workflows, leading to higher efficiency, profitability and best practice of compliance. You will assist the team in the day to day running of operations through:
- Research and analysing tax legislation and providing advice to clients on their tax queries
- Review the work of junior employees and provide feedback
- Actively build and maintain client relationships
- Participate and facilitate learning and development initiatives
- Actively promoting the firm and developing technical expertise
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelors degree in Commerce/Law
- Recently completed or completing a post-graduate qualification (CA, CTA or Masters of Tax preferred)
- Demonstrated prior experience in Tax services with an accounting or advisory firm
- Knowledge of basic Australian tax laws and experience in income tax advice related to corporate tax, CGT, international tax and companies personal income tax
