She was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital with minor injuries following the accident in the southbound lane near Run-O-Waters Creek at about 5pm.
The 29-year-old male driver, a French national from Plumpton, Sydney, had taken his eyes off the road when he reached for a drink, police said.
He overcorrected the Ford Falcon station wagon after the vehicle headed toward the left-hand guardrail, causing the trailer to fishtail and then jack-knife. The car landed on the grassed verged on the opposite side of the road with the trailer on top.
The trailer’s and car’s contents, including trolleys, pamphlets and stationery were scattered nearby. Skid marks were apparent on the road.
The car was carrying another female passenger, but she and the driver were not seriously injured, police said.
Traffic was banked up for several kilometres as police partially closed the inner lane. However officers kept it moving slowly throughout.
NSW Fire and Rescue also attended the scene as a precaution.
