A truck overturned on the Hume Highway just north of Graces Flat Road on Tuesday at approximately 10pm. The truck contained 47 double stacked pallets of Paddy’s pies.

The driver lost control and the truck flipped onto its side and slid a significant distance before coming to a stop. Emergency services were called at about 10.10pm on Tuesday evening, the truck driver sustained no injuries. Information into the cause of the accident is unknown at this stage.
One of two northbound lanes were closed Tuesday night and most of Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the RTA's Transport Management Centre explained that due to the complex nature of the salvage operation, it was decided to recover the vehicle on Wednesday morning.
“At around 7.50am Wednesday morning, one northbound lane was closed to assist with recovery of the vehicle and clean-up of the accident site. This lane remained closed throughout the salvage and clean-up,” said the spokesperson.
“At around 2.45pm Wednesday the truck was righted and taken away from the site, at around 3.45pm the recovery and clean-up operation was completed and all northbound lanes were once again open.”
Hospital thief
On Monday at 10am an employee at the Yass Base Hospital had $200 in cash stolen from her wallet. A 47-year-old local man was charged with the theft.
Unregistered and unlicensed
A 47-year-old man was caught driving an unregistered car on the Barton Highway on September 19 at around 7pm, the perpetrator was also unlicensed.
A 67-year-old woman was caught driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle along the Barton Highway on September 19 at 2.30pm.
Unlicensed
A 38-year-old man was stopped for a breath test on Sunday on Yass Valley Way. He was found not to have ever held a drivers licence. He is due to appear at Yass Local Court in November.
