A Chisholm St resident had just returned from filling his work ute at about 6.30pm, ready for the next day when the vehicle went up in flames.
From inside his house he noticed something was amiss.
Neighbours rushed out with garden hoses to extinguish the fire, which had started in the ute’s cabin. At the time, it was parked near a boat and houses.
Two NSW Fire and Rescue engines attended and quickly put out the blaze.
The diesel vehicle’s cabin and engine bay were badly damaged.
The cause is not known at this stage.
