But his support for the Goulburn Strikers began as a result of his friendship with club stalwart Jerry Evans.
For about five years, Scheuner has sponsored the under 18 team in a bid to sport local soccer.
In passing conversation with Evans, the two spoke about players Xanthe Britton and Annaliese Babic, who were juggling their Year 12 studies and could not pay this season’s registration fee.
“It was all in passing,” said Scheuner, recalling the conversation.
So Scheuner decided to pay for their registration and in return the two players would help out where they could at Triple G Auctions, a business Scheuner began only earlier this year.

“They were most thankful,” Scheuner said, recalling when the players heard their registration would be supported.
On April 5, Britton and Babic attended their first sale at Triple G Auctions, updated data and helped customers, and enjoyed the experience.
On the field, Strikers women have lost their opening two games in State League 1.
Coach Tim Dally says despite both defeats, he remains optimistic as more games come.
“The women will be a very competitive outfit this season, especially once they gain full strength,” he said.
