Rhythm guitarist John Brewster says Rick was unexpectedly admitted to hospital this week with an infection and is receiving IV antibiotics.
“Rick is receiving the best treatment and is hopeful to be released from hospital in the next few days,” Mr Brewster said.
“He is obviously really upset about having to cancel this weekend’s shows, but the most important thing now is that he rests and gets the treatment he needs to recuperate. All the band are thinking of Rick and wishing him a speedy recovery.”
The Goulburn show will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
“We have immediately started working on finding alternative dates for the Goulburn show,” he said.
“We were really looking forward to the 4x4 dates this weekend and don’t want those music fans who had bought tickets to miss out.
“We thank everyone for their understanding for the postponement and look forward to finalising new show dates as soon as possible.”
More details on the rescheduled show dates for Merimbula and Goulburn will be announced soon.
Ticketholders are encouraged to hold on to their tickets, which will be valid for the new dates. Any queries regarding reissue of tickets can be directed the point of purchase.
