One person has died in a serious crash on the Hume Highway, north of Goulburn.
Emergency services are attending a two-vehicle collision near the Winfarthing Road intersection, some 15 kilometres from Goulburn on Tuesday afternoon.
Hume Local Area Commander, acting Superintendent Andrew Koutsoufis, confirmed a pantech truck carrying two men had crashed into a tree.
The driver died at the scene and his passenger has been treated for chest injuries. He is being airlifted to hospital.
A sedan was also involved in the collision.
Superintendent Koutsoufis said an elderly woman in this vehicle was treated by ambulance, while an elderly man also in the car would be airlifted.
Household items and clothing are strewn across the road.
The pantech hire truck was moving house to Shellharbour for a Melbourne woman who was travelling two vehicles behind.
The woman witnessed the accident and was visibly distraught at the scene.
Another witness, who helped the male passenger in the sedan escape, claims the man repeated ‘I must of fell asleep, I must of fell asleep’.
Two rescue helicopters from Albion Park and Bankstown have landed.
The Hume Highway has been closed off as a result. Traffic is at a standstill.
