Goulburn travelled to Yass last night to play Yass, game started in torrential rain and Yass skipped away to a 16 nil in the first 20 minutes. They played to the conditions with good ball control and a strong kicking game. Goulburn struggled with their ball handling in the slippery conditions and were on the back foot from the start.
To the girls credit they regathered their composure and as the rain stopped started to control the game and their defence improved. Goulburn threatened the Yass line a number of times in the second half but were unable to cross. With the final score ending up 16 nil to Yass.
It was a tough battle in the conditions and the girls learnt a valuable lesson about ball control and starting strong.
Yass are undefeated in the competition and the win against the previously undefeated Goulburn Stockmen Women should place the Magpies on top of the ladder.
