Fixed wireless NBN towers in Balmoral West, Bargo North, Hill Top South and Mount Hunter are expected to be switched on in the next month.
“Fixed-wireless delivers super-fast broadband through 1700 fixed wireless towers around the nation, including more than 20 in Hume,” Mr Taylor said.
“[It] is fantastic technology and has the highest customer satisfaction rating on the nbn.”
He said the roll-out was flying along and estimates it will be finished by 2018.
“The great news is current maximum speeds of 50 megabits a second (Mbps) download and 20 Mbps upload available to fixed wireless premises are set to double early next year to 100 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload,” he said.
Skymuster customers will be able to access 150 gigabites at peak times from October.
“Transitioning to the nbn is not automatic, and I encourage Hume residents to contact their preferred provider to find out information on the services which will be available,” Mr Taylor said.
