The centre has approved eight filming permits over the past few months, the same number of total permits in the 2016/17 financial year.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council Filming Contact Officer and group liaison Jackie Weathstone expect the numbers to rise over the next financial year.
“There is a positive economic impact,” she said. “The crew go to different hotels, visit different restaurants and pubs.”
Organisations such as NRMA, IGA and Nike have sought permissions for advertisements, television shows, music videos and other forms of video.
These projects have also included local casting calls for residents.
The increase in numbers have been attributed to the proactive efforts of the staff Ms Weathstone said, and the priorities given to the projects submitted to the centre.
“We go out to see them to let them know that we’re proactive,” she said. “We’re a friendly face, some local area governments do not put as much effort.
“They love coming to Goulburn.”
