Local Terri Reeve has decided to give away 30 dresses to help those who might need a helping hand. 

The gowns, of different styles and colours, hangs in the corner of her work studio waiting for a home. 

The idea came about when Ms Reeve, a makeup artist, was speaking to one of her clients about the prices of graduation gowns today.

“She was talking about spending around $300 which I thought was crazy,” she said. 

The dresses were collected over the years from multiple photoshoots, and now she wants this “big clean out” to help those who might be struggling.

She put a call out on On the Grapevine – Goulburn, and hopes that people who need the dresses will reach out. 

The dresses are sized between 8 and 18. 

“Kids are putting the effort to get it that far to make it, if they can’t afford [a dress] it’s important to reward them for the effort so far,” she said.

But for Ms Reeve, it was more than just an act of goodwill.

“There is an importance of spending money on more important things,” she said.  

“It is only for one day, they can still have good photos and have a fantastic day if they don’t spend all that money.”
