The pair both worked for the fast food chain during high school in 2008, aged 16 (Courtney) and 18 (George).
“He was always making me laugh at work and we soon became good friends,” said Courtney. “By 2009 we were dating.”
On New Year’s Eve of 2014 the couple were at a friend’s house watching the celebrations on television.
“George and I, along with our friends, started counting down to welcome the new year,” said Courtney.
“When the clock ticked over to 2015 everyone cheered and clapped and I turned to George to kiss him, and he was standing there holding a small purple box and he said, “Will you marry me?” I immediately started crying and said yes.”
Their wedding day finally came last month, only to bring lashings of rain.
“We had to move the ceremony to the very old rustic hay shed at Garoorigang (Historic Homestead) and it was beautiful,” said Courtney. “Even though it rained, the day was still perfect!”
The reception followed at 98 Chairs in Goulburn.
The couple recently purchased a house together and this year look forward to spending their very first Christmas as a married couple in their very own home.
