Goulburn is fortunate to have two tennis clubs offering tennis coaching clinics over the school holidays. At the Railway Tennis Club which occupies the Bruce Street tennis courts APTCA professional Stephen Erwin will be running two clinics. The first from Monday January 8 daily until Thursday, January 11. The second from Monday, January 22 to Thursday, January 25. He will be assisted by Adam McSoley who has just attained his Professional Graduate 1 coaching certificate.
From January 15-17, Erwin will be conducting a clinic in Braidwood. “We are always looking for youngsters who would like to play tennis and improve their skills and cater for tiny tots to teens,” Erwin said. “Learning tennis and improving skills can continue once the clinics are over. Young people can join the railway Tennis Club, hire a court and enjoy playing competitions or socially with friends.
“The clinics are a great way to introduce kids to the sport, to learn some skill and learn how the various competition formats are played and scored.
“Bookings are essential to take part in the clinics. Participants can purchase snacks and refreshments but they should all at least bring along a bottle of water. A fruit platter is supplied everyday and on the final day a free barbecue will be available. Participating youngsters will also have a chance to win prizes too.
The cost of Stephen Erwin’s clinics are $20 for participating from 9am till 1pm and $30 per day to participate from 9am till 3pm. For all bookings and enquiries phone Steve 0436 333872. If the kids don’t have a racquet, Stephen has some available he also sells racquets and offers a restringing service.
