Some 52 adults and 10 children came along to start off the festive season.
Santa Claus managed to take time out from his busy schedule to make an appearance, much to the delight of four young Japanese boys who were visiting one of our residents.
Thank you to everyone who came along on the morning to clean and decorate the hall and also to those who brought along a plate to share. Mark Saturday, December 8, 2018 in your diary for next year.
Yuletide Mail Trail
Dennis Isbister took great pleasure in judging the entries for this year's competition and found it extremely difficult to select the winners. After consideration of the entries, based on originality, presentation and portraying the spirit of Christmas in the local Towrang environment, the following are the 2017 winners: 1st Jenny & Alan Goulder for their bubbly Christmas spirit entry; 2nd Dot & Frank Moorby for their relaxed style towards the Towrang laidback approach to Christmas; equal 3rd Helen & Guiseppe Bucciol for a very authentic Aussie bush-style theme and Fiona & Kevin Bulman for a comprehensive guide from their place to the North Pole.
Congratulations to you all and thank you to all who participated this year. We hope to continue this small competition: perhaps now would be time to start thinking about your masterpiece.
Hall flooring - and air!
The new floor looks fantastic. A lot of hard work and effort went in to make sure it was completed in time for the Christmas party, with a bit more done in the last week to finish it off.
To the community members who put in hours of work, thank you - Alan, Roland, Jono, Robert, Martin, Jean, Debbie, Steve, Keiran, Dennis, Kevin.
To the businesses that helped put it all together, thank you - Lynwood Quarry, DowNunder Carpentry, Jace Cosgrove Electrical, Woodberry Floor Sanding.
We have air conditioning! And heating! Two new reverse cycle air conditioners were recently installed by Jace Cosgrove and Tom at the hall – just in time for the really hot weather.
