Levi Bailey, son of Emerson Mobbs-Wright and Bailey Curtis, arrived at 11:40pm on December 30, and his parents couldn’t be happier.
At only 16 years old, Emerson described finding out about her pregnancy as “really nerve-wracking”, but the support from her family helped her become “pretty excited to be a mum.”
The pair are in the process of renting a house together, and Bailey’s work as a brick labourer will help support the family while Emerson studies at TAFE this year.
Emerson realised that she might be pregnant after suffering from morning sickness, and a visit to the doctor soon confirmed her suspicions.
Despite only finding out that Emerson was pregnant 12 weeks in, there were no medical problems in the ensuing six months.
Following a tough 13 hour labour, Lexi emerged a perfectly healthy, but very heavy, nine-pound-five-ounce boy.
