The first meeting for the year will be held next Tuesday, February 6 at 6pm and we will be considering reports regarding:

This issue is one that has been a key discussion point over the past two months following on from a public meeting in December, so it’s appropriate to devote part of the column to outlining the recommendation we will consider next week.
To summarise the work done prior to this recommendation: council undertook a baseline traffic study in 2016, undertook consultation, then developed a more detailed traffic model and again met with the community before now looking to move forward with a plan of works.
Councillors will consider a recommendation to:
Construct the road link between Lockyer Street and Tait Crescent in the 2018/19 financial year
Open Carr Street immediately with restrictions to light traffic until rehabilitation of the northern section of this road is completed in 2018/19. Rehabilitation of the southern section of this road is to be delivered by the developer of Grandview estate.
Allow GM Warwick Bennett to commence discussions with potential developers in the Shannon Drive area to see if there is potential for a voluntary planning agreement that would allow council to undertake the Shannon Drive extension in 2018/19
The western end of Mary Street be constructed during the 2018/19 financial year at an estimated cost of $750,000 if the Shannon Drive extension works commence, otherwise the work on this upgrade would occur in the 2019/20 financial year.
The recommendation is a complicated one due to the number of parties involved – council, land developers and residents. However, I feel we now have a clear plan, and are well on the way to a great solution for Run-O-Waters and South Goulburn.
