Local first aid training provider, Allen Training has donated $1350 raised at courses operated on Saturday, February 10.
“With staff from the Goulburn Allens Training office being involved in the fire, it was clear to us that not only essential donations were needed,” a spokeswoman said.
“In the aftermath of the event, money is needed to then replenish the trucks with fuel, upgrade essential equipment or even purchase brand new equipment in the case of the next fire. This gave us an idea to look at raising some funds to help with these needs.”
Taralga RFS captain John Sullivan appreciated the effort.
“On behalf of all the members, I would like to thank you for the kind and generous offer of the donation to the Taralga Brigade, ” he said.
The Allens spokeswoman said while the funds were just a dint in the money needed for the service, it was a start to getting them back on track for future fires in the area.
“Thank you to those who attended on the weekend, the community that donated during the fires and thank you most of all to each and every fire fighter across the country,” she said.
