Police nab driver charged with kidnapping a woman from Sydney

A man who has been charged with kidnapping a woman from west Sydney was arrested in Goulburn last weekend.

At about 11am on March 11, a 20-year-old woman from Greenacre, west of Sydney, was picked up by a 19-year-old male from Condell Park. 

Police said there was an altercation in the vehicle between the two and the woman was assaulted by the driver. 

Travelling to Canberra the offender denied multiple requests to stop the car by the woman. 

The victim was able to contact her mother on her mobile phone and the police were alerted.

Officers attached to the Hume Police District spotted the vehicle 2km north from a Goulburn exit at about 1.55pm on the same day.

The offender was charged with kidnapping and breaching bail.

His bail was refused on March 12 and he will appear before Burwood Court House on May 16 .
