The teams played Southern Inland Representative Teams on March 18, at Terry Campese Oval, Queanbeyan. The day was very hot and despite the heat the games were played at a very high standard and pace. In the under 12s the SCM team were well behind in the first half but managed to claw there way back to finish the games 20 all draw. The players showed tremendous character and resolve in being able to compete with a very determined opposition.
In the under 14s the game started quickly and the SCM team were able to score a few quick tries. The remainder of the game was played in a very good spirit and was tightly contested towards the end and the final score was 30 – 5.
Last weekend the squad travelled to Broulee and was hosted by the Broulee Dolphins Rugby Club. There were three training sessions over the course of the day, and finished with a beach session and barbecue at Broulee Beach which was well deserved considering how exhausted the players became.
The next game is on the April 22 at Terry Campese Oval, Queanbeyan for the under 12s and 14s, against Southern Inland Representative Teams SIRU.
In the Goulburn u13/14s we are combining with Crookwell and Braidwood to have a local team playing in the Canberra competition for the first time in four years. It is great having the kids play together and to develop as a team for the future. There are available spots within the team and if you would like to play, contact Tim Gibson (timgibson001@gmail.com) for further details.
On the local Goulburn Junior Rugby Competition, training has commenced and is held each Thursday from 5.30-6.30pm for all ages ( u6-u12s) at Carr Confoy oval.
